Donors can support changing community needs by providing unrestricted support to the Medina County Community Fund. This can be done as a direct donation to MCCF’s endowment or by creating one of several types of funds. Donations can be cash, or another type of asset. To donate online CLICK HERE. An Unrestricted Donation is for donors who want to make an investment in our community, but who do not wish to be actively involved in the grant-making process. This fund receives general contributions to support the mission of the fund in the community. The fund has a committee that evaluates and recommends grant awards to qualified nonprofit organizations. Contributions to the unrestricted endowment maintains our ability to address the community's changing needs. Income from this fund provides grants in a wide range of areas, including: Arts & Culture, Education, Health & Human Services and Civic Affairs.
Donors may also start a named fund. The different types of funds include:
Unrestricted Funds are for donors who want to make an investment in our community, but who do not wish to be actively involved in the grant-making process. This fund can carry a family name, but allows the Medina County Community Fund board to distribute income to best serve the community.
Donor-Advised Funds are for donors and their families who are seeking active involvement in grant-making. Donors recommend grants from their fund to support eligible nonprofit organizations.
Designated Funds are for donors who wish to provide an annual grant to a specific nonprofit organization while receiving professional management and grant monitoring.
Field-of-Interest Funds are for donors who wish to direct that income be used for a specific charitable purpose, such as support for the arts, education, health care, etc. The Medina County Community Fund then selects the agencies or programs that fit the donor's wishes.
Organizational Endowment Funds are created by a nonprofit organization to provide long-term financial support for the organization.
Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA): Do you have highly appreciated assets that don’t produce income? Contribute them to a charitable gift annuity and receive an immediate income tax deduction plus fixed income payments for the rest of your life. Upon your death, the remaining balance will support the Medina County Community Fund.
